The SmartBuyGlasses Shanghai office is seeking a native DUTCH candidate to assist in expanding our market presence in the Netherlands. The marketing department is growing rapidly and we are looking for a strong candidate interested in gaining comprehensive online marketing experience and working in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will assist us in improving and further developing successful online campaigns for our DUTCH language website see: www.smartbuyglasses.nl. The successful candidate will work closely with marketing management and other marketing team members as well as our internal operational teams including IT, Web Design, E-Marketing and Customer Service. The focus for this internship will be on online marketing and as the primary point of contact for the websites, you will be conducting market research as well as developing/carrying out an action plan for our marketing campaigns including translation and content writing, SEO activities, affiliate marketing, comparison shopping, and all other on-page and off-page online marketing activities. SmartBuyGlassesoffers extensive training across all these activities for all successful candidates. The right candidate will have at least a basic understanding of SEO, online Marketing, on-page and off-page online marketing. Any experience working in an online marketing/SEO capacity or marketing role will be an advantage.
The marketing department at SmartBuyGlasses offers the opportunity for the right candidate to have their career fast-tracked with the opportunity to be promoted to a full time position and then further promoted within a short space of time (6-12 months). Only those with an astute mind and the desire to make a difference and aggressively bring about strong results will be considered.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- You will directly report to a marketing coordinator on a daily basis on tasks and updates.
- You will work to improve and localize web content for Dutch markets, a task that includes content and article writing as well as translation from English of some content.
- Conducting e-market research and market planning.
- You will optimize and further develop our comparison shopping, affiliate marketing and google adwords (CPC) campaigns and will need to communicate with our partners on a daily basis.
- You will become an expert in developing Search Engine Optimization (“SEO”) techniques, specifically in link-building as well as other SEM activities.
Skills & Requirements
- Native DUTCH Speaker and writer
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Strong interest in trending analysis
- Ability to work independently with a positive “can do” attitude
- Ability to self-prioritize work streams and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Computer literate with an excellent understanding of MS Office
- Highly self-motivated
- Online marketing experience is a plus
- Some online marketing background in SEO, SEM, CPC and/or CPA based activities is a plus

Applikon Biotechnology BV is a private Dutch high tech company and a world leader in high performance bioreactor systems. Our products are used in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. Applikon works closely together with a large number of (inter) national universities and institutes. We are constantly developing new technologies for bioprocessing.
Our head office is based in Schiedam, The Netherlands. With two subsidiaries (USA, UK) we currently work with more than 100 colleagues on the development, marketing, sales, assembly, QC and after sales support of our products. HuaYue Enterprise Holdings Ltd. Is a private Chinese company, with several branches over China, the head office is located in Guangzhou. Their core business is importing and selling high quality scientific and analytic equipments and consumables in Life Science, Biotechnology, IVF and Food Safety fields in China market. Applikon Biotechnology BV and HuaYue Enterprise Holdings Ltd. both are rewarded the ISO 9001 certification.
They have worked together for several years and this resulted in the setup of a new company named Applikon Biotechnology China Ltd. This high tech production plant, which is located in the ‘Science City’ (Luogang) of Guangzhou, focuses on development, assembly and sales of high tech bioreactors for mainland China.
In the initial phase of this newly established site in Guangzhou, we are immediately looking for a
General Manager
As a general manager you will substantially contribute in the setup and development of Applikon Biotechnology China Ltd. in Guangzhou. The main responsibilities will be to start up, control and lead the high tech production plant from scratch.
You will be responsible for the professional development of the production plant (for the Chinese market) and after the initial phase you will provide a significant contribution to the overall business development of Applikon Biotechnology China.
In the initial period (4 years) Applikon aims to grow from zero to 50 employees (staff). The hiring and wellbeing of these (mainly technical) employees will be one of your tasks. You are a fresh and inspiring manager who will be directing the Chinese/Dutch management team as well. This team (hired by the International Board of Directors) will report to you on a frequent base.
With your healthy dose of entrepreneurship you will develop and implement the operational process quality and productivity-enhancing tools and processes. As an enthusiastic and authentic personality, you will contribute to staff and organizational development through training, education and employability. These trainings will initially take place in The Netherlands.
You organize and realize up to date management information. The General Manager reports to the International Board of Directors and operational reports to the Production Manager in Applikon Biotechnology BV.
Profile:
- You have a broad experience in European/Western companies on management level
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- (Bio)Technical Background (Master Degree) + a completed Master of Business Administration (or similar educational background)
- Preferably good knowledge of hardware and instrumentation
- Experienced in leadership
- You have experience in doing business with China
- At least 6-7 years of relevant experience

Freelance correspondent China
NOS Nieuws is op zoek naar een multimediale correspondent met standplaats Peking, China die in staat is om voor televisie, internet en vooral radio nieuwsverslagen en reportages te maken over gebeurtenissen in het werkgebied China, Japan en de Korea’s, en de betekenis daarvan over te brengen en uit te leggen aan het Nederlandse publiek. De correspondent werkt nauw samen met de hoofd-correspondent van de NOS in Peking en vervangt deze bij afwezigheid.
We zoeken
We zoeken een collega met:
- ervaring in het analyseren van ontwikkelingen in de internationale politieke verhoudingen;
- kennis van en inzicht in de buitenlandse en economische politiek van China, Japan en Korea;
- kennis van de lokale samenleving in haar politieke, economische, culturele, religieuze en historische verschijningsvormen;
- vaardigheden om kennis en inzichten via kruisgesprekken en reportages over te brengen op het Nederlandse publiek en die te laten aansluiten bij de Nederlandse belevingswereld;
- behalve een nieuwsneus ook affiniteit met sport;
- een creatieve instelling die actief kan meedenken over variaties in aanpak en invalshoeken bij onderwerpen;
- ervaring in het doen van kruisgesprekken en het maken reportages en werken onder grote tijdsdruk
- technische kennis en ervaring in monteren van radio- en tv-items
- kennis van de Chinese taal, of bereidheid die te leren.
De freelance correspondent kan goed alleen werken en heeft een flexibele instelling. Het werk in China kenmerkt zich door onregelmatigheid in werkuren en een deel van de werkzaamheden kan plaatsvinden in de avonduren en in de weekenden.

De standplaats is Peking waar de NOS een bureau heeft met productionele en redactionele ondersteuning door lokale medewerkers. De honorering is op stuksbasis en volgens de freelance tarieven die de NOS hanteert.
